TIET 2019 Admission test is expected to take place in June, 2019. The test is conducted both online and offline and is available in English and Hindi. STEP BY STEP ONLINE REGISTRATION GUIDE

STEP 1: REGISTER

  • Applicants need to visit the official website, thapar.edu, to register.
  • Personal Details such as the candidate’s Name, DoB, Email ID and Phone Number need to be provided to register.

STEP 2: VERIFY

  • An auto generated mail will be sent to the candidate’s email ID and an SMS to the registered phone number for verification.

STEP 3: LOGIN AND FILL APPLICATION FORM

  • The login credentials thus generated will be sent to the candidate’s email ID.
  • Using those, candidates need to login onto the site and fill the application form.
  • The Application Form requires the candidate’s to furnish correct data since there is no provision for modifications.

STEP 4: UPLOADING DOCUMENTS

  • Basic documents such as the candidate’s photograph and signatures of the parents as well as the candidate need to be uploaded in the prescribed format.

STEP 6: PAYMENT OF FEE

  • The Application fee for TIET 2019 can be paid both online and offline.

TIET 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

Before applying for admissions into the institute, applicants are expected to check the course-wise eligibility criteria. The details of the same are mentioned below:

COURSE-WISE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • B.E./B.Tech., B.E-MBA Integrated program, TCD courses,

    • Applicant must have passed 12th standard examination with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
  • B.Tech

    • Admissions shall take place on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in the JEE Mains.
  • M.E. and M.Tech.

    • Applicant must have passed B.E/B.Tech with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or M.Sc in the relevant discipline.
    • The selection for M.Tech will be done on the basis of the score obtained by the candidate in the GATE exam.
  • MBA. and M.CA

    • Applicant must have a Bachelors’ degree in any discipline.
    • For M.C.A, the candidate must have Mathematics in Class 12th.
  • MBA

    • Selections shall take place on the basis of CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT score.
  • Ph.D.

    • Applicant must have completed a Master’s degree with a 6 pointer or must have obtained 55% in GATE/NET examination.

The exam pattern for the TIET Admission Test 2019 is detailed below:

  • Mode: Offline mode/ Online Mode

The questions shall pertain to the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and shall test the applicant’s basic cognitive abilities.

TIET 2019 Rules and Regulations:

Certain Rules and Regulations are followed with reference to the admission procedure at TIET. These must be taken seriously by the candidates.

  • Candidate should be the citizen of India, a POI/OCI Card Holder.
  • Candidate has passed 12th from or equivalent examination from central or state-based recognized university.
  • Candidate’s must check the eligibility criteria before filling the application form.
  • In case, the applicant isn’t qualified to register for a particular course, his/her application will not be considered.
  • If the candidate’s uploaded documents do not meet the prescribed format, his/her application will be disqualified.
  • First five toppers of the recognized Boards shall be given direct admission with the condition that they must have appeared in JEE (Main)-2018
  • 50% of the seats are reserved for candidates who have passed qualifying examination from the state of Punjab
  • 2% seats are reserved for outstanding sports persons possessing sports gradation certificates A, B or C issued by the Director of Sports, Punjab
  • 2% seats are reserved for the candidates nominated by Punjab Government. The candidates for these seats are required to appear in the entrance test as specified by Punjab Government.
  • Thirteen seats (One in each discipline) are reserved under the scheme of reservation of seats of MHRD, GOI.
  • One seat is reserved for the Jammu & Kashmir Migrants
  • One seat in each discipline is reserved for J & K students
  • One seat in each discipline is reserved for students belonging to N-E states
  • SC/ST candidates shall get 5% relaxation in eligibility
  • Under M.B.A, candidates having extraordinary managerial/leadership potential demonstrated through at least one year of experience are exempt from having 50% marks in their graduation/post graduation.
  • Under M.A. Psychology, 5% additional marks will be added for the students having honors degree in Psychology.
  • Candidates have to be present at the examination center.
  • For admission to courses in the particular department, selected candidates are required to attend to counseling process in person.
