TANCET 2019: Important Dates | Registration | Exam Pattern | SyllabusTamil Nadu Common Entrance Test 2019 (TANCET) is a state-level test authorized by the Anna University, Chennai. It offers to its candidate’s admission into post-graduate courses as that of MBA, MCA, M.Tech, M.E, M.Arch and M.Plan in prestigious state universities.

The test is an offline examination (pen and paper-based) and is available in two languages, English and Tamil. TANCET 2019 comprises of 3 papers according to the course opted for, i.e., for MBA, MCA or M.Tech/M.E/M.Arch course. To register for TANCET 2019, applicants must visit the official website, www.annauniv.edu.

TANCET 2019 will take place in the third week of March 2019 tentatively. The registration process and the filling of application form will begin in the last week of January tentatively and continue till the third week of February 2019. The registration process is an online procedure and there is no offline mode available for it. The results are expected to be released in the fourth week of March 2019.

The syllabus covered under TANCET 2019 assesses a candidate’s basic cognitive skills and allows a holistic perspective of the applicant’s knowledge and presence of mind. The exam centers for the same include Chennai, Karaikudi, Tirunelveli, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Chidambaram, Nagercoil, Vellore, Dindigul, Salem, Villupuram, Erode, Thanjavur, and Virudhunagar.

Each year, thousands of candidates appear for the examination for admissions to esteemed colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu. Aspirants should endeavor to be aware of official notifications, which shall be released soon.

TANCET 2019 Registration:

STEP BY STEP REGISTRATION GUIDE

REGISTER

  • Applicants need to visit the official website, www.annauniv.edu, to register for TANCET 2019.
  • A link ‘Register Now’ is available on the website.
  • Applicants are required to furnish basic details as Name, Date of Birth, Email ID and Phone Number to register and thereby ‘Register.’
  • A login ID and password will be sent to the applicant’s registered email ID and phone number.

LOGIN AND FILL APPLICATION FORM

  • Applicants should log in with their credentials to fill in the application form.
  • Applicants are expected to read the instructions provided before clicking ‘Proceed’ on the website.
  • The Application Form requires the filling of Basic Details such as Personal Details, Qualification, Exam Centre etc.
  • Applicants are required to upload their recent photograph in JPG/JPEG format with the file size of 20kb to 30kb.

MAKE PAYMENT

  • On completing the application form, candidates should click on ‘Pay Now’ and proceed to the payment window.
  • The application fee is Rs. 500/- for General candidates.
  • The application fee is Rs.250/- for SC/ST/SCA/PWD candidates.
  • The fee can be deposited by a Demand Draft in the favor of The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai.

PRINT APPLICATION FORM

  • After making the payment, applicants must take a print out of the application form by
    clicking on the ‘Print Application Form’ tab for future references.

TANCET 2019 Application Form Details:

The applicants can apply for TANCET 2019 through online mode only. Candidates have to fill only one application form for all the three entrance tests. The application will be available for a stipulated period of time. Applicants have to enter their personal details, qualification details, address, etc in the application form and upload their recent photograph in the prescribed format.

The payment of application fee can be done through an online mode or via a Demand Draft. The candidates have to pay Rs. 500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates) for each programme. If a candidate wants to appear for more than one programme, for every additional programme, they have to pay Rs. 500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu).

After successful submission of the application form, candidates should take the printout of the confirmation page for future references.

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Applicants in the final year/semester of a Bachelor’s degree and/or appearing for the qualifying examination during April/May 2019 are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants belonging to another state can apply but the eligibility will be determined by the respective authorities.
  • Applicants with a valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score do not need to appear for TANCET 2019 exam.
  • Candidates with a valid GATE score in Engineering Science (XE) and Life Science (XL) have to appear for the TANCET exam.

SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (ACCORDING TO COURSES)

M.Tech / M.Arch / M.E. / M. Plan :

  • An aggregate of 50% marks or an equivalent GPA in a recognized Bachelor’s degree (B.E./ B.Tech).
  • Reserved candidates (SC/ST/PWD/DA/NC-OBC) need 45% aggregate or an equivalent GPA in a recognized Bachelor’s degree (B.E./ B.Tech).
  • Candidates with a valid GATE score card from 2017, 2018, 2019 can also apply.

MBA

  • An aggregate of 50% marks or an equivalent GPA in a recognized Bachelor’s degree.
  • Reserved candidates (SC/ST/PWD/DA/NC-OBC) need 45% aggregate or an equivalent GPA in a recognized Bachelor’s degree.

MCA

  • An aggregate of 50% marks or an equivalent GPA in a recognized Bachelor’s degree with mathematics at 10+2 and Graduation Level.
  • Reserved candidates (SC/ST/PWD/DA/NC-OBC) need 45% aggregate or an equivalent GPA in a recognized Bachelor’s degree with mathematics at 10+2 and Graduation Level.

MCA (Lateral Entry)

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree (of minimum 3 years duration) in BCA, B.Sc. (Computer Science/Information Technology) with mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate level.
  • An aggregate of 50% marks or an equivalent GPA for General applicants is a must.
  • An aggregate of 45% marks or an equivalent GPA for Reserved applicants is a must.

Applicants must examine the eligibility criteria before filling the application form and registering for the test. Since different courses call for different stipulations, one must inspect these carefully.
