STAT 2018: Notification, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Date & PatternFounded in 2008, School of Inspired Leadership (SOIL), one of the esteemed management colleges, is situated in Gurgaon (Haryana). It offers full-time academic programs to the candidates who want to pursue their career in the field of management. SOIL grants one-year Post-graduate Program in Business Leadership (PGPBL), one-year Post-graduate Program in Human Resource Leadership (PGPHRL) and a two-year Post-graduate Diploma Program in Management- Business Design.

However, courses offered in SOIL School are not AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). It offers various specializations like Marketing, Human Resource, Finance, and Analytics. All the three courses grant a 100% placement offer to the students.

About STAT:

To get admission into SOIL, an entrance exam is conducted every year for aspirants which are known as STAT (SOIL Talent Appreciation Test). It is a computer-based test and the scores obtained in the exam followed by a group discussion round and interview, are used to grant admission in the college.

STAT exam is conducted in five different steps which are given below:

  • Profile Evaluation: Online Application Form
  • Essay Writing
  • SOIL Talent Appreciation Test
  • Feedback is given by the jury members: Recommendations
  • Interview

Before conduction of STAT written exam, candidates are asked to submit their resumes which consist of their various qualifications. On basis of their application form and CV’s, they are called for the written exam. This process is known as Profile Evaluation which is done by the SOIL admission office managers. Candidates can mail their resumes to the address with the headline as “Profile Evaluation”.

Profile evaluation is done by faculty members and executive members of Soil. After filtration of resumes, candidates will get their response within ten days of submission of resumes.

STAT 2018 Registration:

For SOIL entrance exam, all the candidates can register for STAT from 16th July 2018. STAT 2018 registration will be done in three rounds:

  • First Round Deadline – 27th October 2018
  • Second Round Deadline – 15th December 2018
  • Third Round Deadline – 16th February 2019

Candidates are advised to fill the form before the last date given on the official website. To apply for the scholarship, aspirants should apply before 4th February 2019. To register for the exam, candidates can visit

STAT Application Form Details:

Candidates can fill the application form before the above-mentioned dates. Candidates are asked to provide details about their academic qualifications, personal details, XAT/NMAT/GMAT/CAT/MAT exam scores and work experience. On the official website of SOIL, candidates can apply for the respective program by clicking on the link “Apply now”.  For the complete registration, aspirants should pay a non-refundable application fee of 2000/-. They can do the payment via debit card/credit card/net banking.

Once the payment is completed, candidates will get an acknowledgment mail. STAT application form also asks for contact details of minimum one professional recommender and two references to whom SOIL connects at a later stage. Candidates will be given a choice to select the exam date while filling the form. Once the form is submitted, on the basis of marks scored, merit will be prepared and candidates will be shortlisted for further rounds.

One of the unique step while applying for STAT is that candidates will be asked for the submission of three essays on different topics given to them. On the basis of performance of candidates, they will be called for the written exam.

STAT Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for STAT, SOIL has made certain points to shortlist aspirants for the written exam which are given below:

For Post-graduation in Business Leadership Program:

  • Candidates should have done 10th and 12th with a minimum of 60% from a recognized Board.
  • Candidates should have graduation in any stream with a minimum of 55% from a recognized University.
  • Candidates who are graduated in Engineering must have a minimum of 60% from a recognized university.
  • Candidates should have a minimum of two-year full-time work experience for this course.
  • For SC/ST, a minimum of 45% is required to be eligible for the STAT 2018.

For Post-graduation in Human Resource Leadership Program:

  • Candidates, who are graduate in engineering, should have a minimum of 55% marks and candidates, who are graduate in any other field, should have a minimum of 50% from a recognized university.
  • If a candidate does not fulfill these academic criteria, then he/she should have a strong extra-curricular background.
  • Candidates should have a minimum of two-year full-time work experience for this course.
  • Marks scored by the candidates who have appeared for CAT/NMAT in 2017/2018, XAT in 2018/2019, GMAT is taken after 1st January 2014 and NMAT in 2017/2018 can be used to get admission into SOIL as they accept their scores as well. These scores provide extra weight to the total score.
  • Freshers, who are in final year, are also eligible for STAT.

Note: Applicants can submit marks of multiple examinations; it will help them to get further shortlisted for the STAT written exam. This is not mandatory.

STAT 2018 Rules & Regulations:

  • Before applying, candidates should go through the information brochure thoroughly and check the eligibility criteria correctly.
  • Candidates while filling the form, should enter all the details correctly as it will be verified further in future.
  • Candidates who are appearing in the final year of their graduation can apply for the exam but they should submit their degrees before 15th June 2019.
  • Print-out of the admission card and the application form should be kept for future reference.

STAT 2018 Exam Dates & Pattern:

After completion of application forms, candidates will be asked to choose their exam slots. Exam dates for the STAT 2018 are yet to be announced. Candidates who are shortlisted after profile evaluation are given exam slots after five weeks of form submission.

At the initial stage, candidates who apply for STAT are screened on the basis of their academic qualifications. SOIL written entrance exam consists of four sections which are mentioned below:

  • Psychometric Test
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Verbal Reasoning
  • Aptitude

The result of the written examination will be declared after two weeks of the conduction of examination. Candidates who qualify STAT written exam will be called for a group discussion round and then personal interview. To get admission in SOIL, authorities have added one more selection round for the aspirants in which candidates are asked to write three compulsory essays on the topic given by them.

In the group discussion round, selected candidates will be grouped in teams of seven to eight members. They will be given a topic on which they will be asked to speak for a few minutes.

Candidates, who clear the group discussion round, will be called for the two rounds of interview, which will be of 30 minutes to 45 minutes. After one to four weeks of the declaration of result, interviews are scheduled. Alumni, one of the faculty members of Soil and an industry expert takes the interview. In this round, the interviewers check the academic details, qualifications, achievements, their thoughts about the future, how they are fit for management programs, and many more.

The final result will be declared after four weeks of Personal Interview Round by e-mail to all the shortlisted students.

STAT 2018 Syllabus:

STAT written exam consists of four section parts and has multiple choice questions. Four sections are explained below:

  • Psychometric Test: This section checks the numerical, verbal, and grammatical abilities of aspirants. It checks the personality of the candidates whether they are fit for the organization or not. This test evaluates whether the pressure handling and style of working of the aspirants.
  • Logical Reasoning: This section checks the abilities of a student like how they deal with patterns, series, shapes, etc. Questions asked in this sections are mainly related to analogies, syllogism, assumptions, alpha-numeric series problems, etc.
  • Verbal Reasoning: This section deals with the English Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, etc. Antonyms, Synonyms, Idioms, Fill in the blanks, Error Spotting, etc are asked in this part.
  • Aptitude: This section checks the mathematical knowledge of the candidates. Questions are asked from Number System, Average, Geometry, Probability, Permutation, Profit and Loss, Interest, etc.

STAT 2018 Preparation Tips:

  • Candidates should go through the previous years question papers to get an idea about the type of questions which are asked in the paper.
  • A proper timetable should be made. Time management is one of the most important steps to clear an exam. This will make a student understand how much time they take while solving a section or preparing a whole subject.
  • Candidates should give daily mock tests so that they can know their strong subjects as well as the sections where they are a week and need to work hard. Also, this will increase their speed which will help them to solve papers as fast as possible with accuracy.
  • Making short notes of important formulae can save a lot of time while doing revision during the last days.
