Symbiosis Law University, established in 1977, is one of the law schools present in India founded by S.B.Majumder. The University grants various undergraduate, postgraduate, research and doctoral courses like B.A L.L.B, BBA. L.L.B, L.L.M etc. in law.
Symbiosis Law University conducts an entrance examination known as Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) 2019 for the candidates who seek admission in 5 year BA BBA LLB course. The examination is conducted every year by the University. It is a mandatory examination to be eligible for the admission in the Law School. Through this examination, candidates can get admission to the following universities:

- Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad
SLAT 2019 Registration Procedure:
The registration for SLAT 2019 will tentatively start from 28th January 2019. The candidates who want to appear for the examination shall register themselves on the official website http://www.set-test.org.
Application Form Details:
The candidates can apply for the examination through the official website http://www.set-test.org. Candidates should fill the application form correctly. Once the form is submitted, no changes will be entertained. A scanned of recent passport size photograph should be uploaded at the time of filling the form and the photo should not be older than 3 months.
An application fee must be paid by the applicant. Otherwise, their application form will be rejected by the exam authorities. The applicants can pay the fee through:

For SLAT 2019, the application fee is Rs. 1750/-. A candidate can pay the fee through demand draft also. The demand draft of Rs. 1750/- should be submitted in favor of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat” payable at Pune. The demand draft should be sent to the below address:

Note: – The last date to fill the application form will be tentatively 14th April 2019. Applicants should make sure that the details filled by them are accurate before the submission.
SLAT Eligibility Criteria:
- The candidate should have passed a 12th or equivalent examination from a recognized board with a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% for reserved category).
- The candidates who have appeared for their 12th standard examination and waiting for their results can apply for the SLAT 2019 provided that they must submit all the documents at the time of counseling.
- The candidates who have passed or appeared 12th standard examination with arts/social sciences can apply for BA. LLB.

SLAT 2019 Exam Pattern:
The SLAT 2019 will be conducted through online mode. The duration of the examination is 150 minutes. For each correct answer, one marks will be awarded. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. All the questions in the paper will be mandatory.

Apart from this, there will be a Personal Interview and a writing ability test (WAT) round for the shortlisted candidates. The maximum marks for the round will be 50marks.
In the WAT round, candidates will be asked to write an essay on the given topic to them. A personal interview will be taken by a panel of experts from the university.
- Logical Reasoning and Analytical Reasoning: Blood Relations, Syllogism, Seating Arrangements, Analogies, and Venn Diagrams.
- Legal Reasoning: Legal Terms, Indian Constitution, Torts, Constitutional Laws, IPC and CrPC, Strict Liability, Law of Crimes, International Law, and Intellectual Property Laws.
- Reading Comprehension: Word Usage, Vocabulary, and Para-Jumbles.
- General Knowledge: International Events, UN Bodies, Current Affairs, Sports, Awards, and Eminent Personalities.
SLAT 2019 Exam Dates:
The university will release the admit card tentatively from 21st April 2019. All the applicants should take a color printout of the admit card as black & white admit card will not be accepted. The admit card shall be available until the day of the examination. A recent color photograph should be pasted on the field given in the admit card. Along with the admit card, the candidate should bring one of the following documents:
- Driving License
- Voter ID Card
- AADHAR card
The SLAT 2019 will be conducted tentatively on 4th May 2019 across various centers in India. The timing of the examination will be 9.30am to 12.00pm.
The result of SLAT 2019 will be released on 13th May 2019 at 1.00pm on the official website of the university. Candidates will be able to check their scores on the website. Shortlisted candidates who clear the written examination, will be called for Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test OR Studio Test and Personal Interaction. To get all the updates about SET Results, applicants should regularly visit the website.
Note: – It is compulsory for all the aspirants to attend the PI and WAT round of SET to be eligible for the admission in the undergraduate programs.
The PI and WAT round for the shortlisted candidates shall be held at Symbiosis Law School Pune Campus, Viman Nagar Only. The candidate will be asked to book their slots for the PI and WAT round. The slot booking facility will be available on the website https://www.symlaw.ac.in.
A merit list will be prepared by the exam authority based on the 50% score obtained in SLAT 2019 and 50% scores of the PI-WAT round. On the basis of this, candidates will be given admission to the various courses available in different campuses of Symbiosis University.
