Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology conducts Admission in various UG, PG and doctorate Courses. This institute does not conduct any other entrance exam except for Ph.D. Admission to M.tech for the year 2019 will be through GATE score.

For candidates WITHOUT GATE score (essentially the sponsored candidates), for the year 2019, selection will be through a written exam and/or interview. The decision to conduct this written exam depends on the number of GATE applicants in the program.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and interview. Final selection will be made based on the performance in written test/interview, GATE score and previous academic performances took together.

RGIPT M.Tech 2019 Application Form Details:

Candidates who are interested are invited to fill their Application Form of RGIPT M.Tech Admission 2019 from the official website of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology. The selection of candidates for M.Tech Admission in RGIPT will be based on their performance in written test, interview, valid GATE score, previous academic performances together.

Procedure for Applying –

Step 1 – Payment of Application fees

The candidates have to pay the application fees either online or offline mode. Online payment can be done via internet banking/credit card/debit card and for offline payment, it can be done through e-challan.

Step 2 – Login

The candidates have to now log in by following the steps described there.

Step 3 – Registration

Now, the candidates have to register themselves by providing the personal, educational, contact and qualifying exam details. Candidates also need to upload their recent passport size photograph with a file size less than 20 KB.

Step 4 – Submission

After completion of the form filling, the candidates need to submit the online filled form. The candidates are advised to take the printout of the application form for future use.

Step 5 – Students login page for editing

The candidates can log in to the page using the required credentials if they wish to make any changes in the filled application form. After being satisfied with the changes made, Candidates need to update the edited registration form.

Step 6 – Documents Verification

As the registration process is finished, candidates need to report to the notified center for document verification.

Following are the documents to be carried by the applicants –

  • Applicant’s GATE exam score card (self-attested).
  • Original and photocopies of class 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates.
  • Original and photocopies of Graduation degree marks sheet of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th
  • Work experience, if any.
  • Original and photocopy of category certificate.
  • OBC category candidates need to bring a non-creamy layer certificate and a self-declaration form signed by candidates.
  • Original and photocopy of the Physically handicapped certificate.
  • Four latest passport size photograph (as similar you’ve affixed in the application form).
  • Employer consent and Sponsorship certificate need to be sent for the sponsored candidate.

Application Fee Details :

Candidates need to do the payment of a requisite fee before they start filling the application form:

For General and OBC category: Rs.400/-

For SC/ST/PH: Rs. 200/-

Payment of requisite amount can be done either through e-challan or online via SBI Collect.

RGIPT M.Tech 2019 Rules and Regulations:

The candidates appearing for the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology M.tech Admission Examination 2019 must follow certain guidelines prescribed below –

  1. Biometric information (photograph and fingerprints) for randomly selected candidates may be captured before the Examination starts.
  2. Candidates must carry their Admit card and original valid ID proof to the examination hall.
  3. A scribble pad will be provided to the candidates for their rough work where the candidates must mention there his/her name and registration number on top of the pad.
  4. Carrying of electronic devices to the Examination hall by the candidates are strictly prohibited.
  5. Candidates are not allowed to carry any printed or handwritten material inside the Examination hall.
  6. There should not be any kind of communication between the candidates inside the Examination hall.
  7. Candidates are prohibited to tamper with the computer or any other related hardware provided in the Examination hall.
  8. Any candidate found violating the above-mentioned guidelines will be disqualified. In addition, appropriate legal actions may be taken against the guilty candidate.

RGIPT M.Tech 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

The candidates those who will be satisfying all the eligibility criteria for the M.tech courses offered by Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology 2019 will only be considered appropriate for the admission.

Criteria for Petroleum Engineering

  • Qualifying Examination – Appearing candidates must have passed B.tech/B.E of 4 years in Petroleum Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Qualifying Marks – Candidate must have secured 1st class or a minimum of 60% or 6.0 CPI (55% or 5.58 CPI for SC/ST) in their qualifying exam.
  • GATE score – Required a valid GATE scorecard for the GATE qualified candidates.

Criteria for Chemical Engineering

  • Qualifying Examination – Appearing candidates must have passed B.tech/B.E of 4 years in Chemical or Petrochemical Engineering from a recognized university.

Sponsorship Category

  • Sponsorship basis: Valid GATE score is not required
  • These candidates will have to qualify in a subject-wise written test/interview. Such candidates will not be eligible for M. Tech. scholarship.
  • Candidate should have worked for the sponsoring organization for at least two years and need to submit a No Objection Certificate, leave approval for one year and the company should guarantee continued employment during the period of study
