PEC 2019: Important Dates, Pattern, Syllabus, Eligibility, Admit Card, Result, Cut OffThe PEC University of Technology, formerly known as the Punjab Engineering College, is affiliated with the Punjab University. The ranking of the PEC is considered very good and so many students from Punjab and the adjoining states of Haryana, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh apply for the wide plethora offered by the institute. The university became a Deemed to be University in 2003, and the renaming happened in 2009. It is a Grant-In-Aid Institution under the Union Territory of Chandigarh. PEC admits students via JEE Mains score for B. Tech and GATE score for M. Tech.

PEC University Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination from Punjab State Board or any other recognized board.
  • The candidate should have Physics and Maths as the main subjects and one of from Chemistry/Computer Science/Biotechnology as the optional subjects.
  • The candidate should have appeared in the JEE Mains 2019 and score the qualifying marks.
  • The diploma holder candidates recognized by the Punjab State Education Board or any other recognized Technical Board are also eligible.
  • Applicants with two years of a certificate from SLIET are also eligible.

PEC University Registration Procedure:

  • The PEC registration will be open from June 2019.
  • The registration process begins after the JEE Mains results are declared.
  • The basic needs for the registration process are the colored passport size photographs of the applicant, the mark sheet of class 10th, 12th or the Diploma, personal ID proofs and valid certificates.
  • Candidates should also visit the official website for more information.

Application Form

  • The candidates can begin registering for the PEC by entering their details like name, phone number, email address etc.
  • Then the candidate’s username and password will be sent on the registered email id for further use.
  • Then the candidate needs to provide the educational qualifications.
  • After that, the candidates will finally upload the scanned copies of the photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
  • After that, the candidates need to send the demand draft in favor of the “PEC University of Engineering and Technology- Admissions”. Also payable at Chandigarh or bank Challan.
  • After the successful form filling, a final confirmation page will come.
  • The applicants need to take two printouts of the confirmation page.
  • Further, a copy of the filled form with the required documents and bank demand draft (in original form) must be sent to the Controller of Admissions at the following address: –

PEC University Exam Syllabus and Pattern:

The exam syllabus will be the CBSE syllabus of class 11th and 12th as prescribed the JEE Mains Controller of Examinations. The exam pattern will be the same as JEE Mains. The exam pattern is given below: –

JEE Main 2018 Exam pattern – Paper 1

PEC 2019 Admit Card:

  • The successfully registered students can access their admit card.
  • The admit card contains all the information about the candidate so it must be kept safely.
  • It is the relevant document seen at the time of admissions.
  • The candidates can download the admit cards from the official website.

PEC 2019 Result, Cut off and Merit List:

  • The PEC admission criteria are changed and now they check the JEE Mains scorecard.
  • As the JEE Mains exam will be held in May and the results will be declared by the ending of May 2019 or June 2019 start, the results of the PEC will be declared in July 2019.
  • The candidates should register in both JEE Mains as well as JAC Chandigarh in order to secure admissions in PEC Chandigarh.

PEC University Counseling Procedure:

The PEC counseling session will be organized in July 2019 to August 2019. The selected candidates should download their Counselling Letter from the official website. The PEC counseling procedure includes the following stages: –

  • Online registration, verification of documents and payment of registration fees
  • The physical presence of the applicant is necessary at the venue for the verification of documents.
  • Filling up of choices online
  • Mock Counselling
  • Locking the choices and getting the print out of it
  • Seat allotment and distribution

The documents required at the time of counseling are: –

  • High school examination certificate and class 12th examination mark sheet
  • JEE Mains admit card as well as the scorecard
  • Certificate of Physical Disability signed by the government designated Medical Authority (if required)
  • Caste Certificate is a must for candidates belonging to the SC (Scheduled Castes) or SC (Scheduled Tribes)

PEC University Rules and Regulations:

  • The candidate should have given and qualified the JEE Mains Examination.
  • Students have to take their admit cards positively to the examination hall
  • Students should reach the examination center at least an hour before the examination starts.
  • Students should not carry any electronic materials such as mobile phones, programmable watches, and smartwatches, PDA, calculators, earphones etc.
  • Students should not carry any material that is related to the exam, including no writing anything on hands.
  • Students can carry only their stationery, including a blue or black ballpoint pen for filling the OMR sheet.
  • Students are also required to carry any of their photo identity cards issued by the government of India.

PEC 2019 Preparation Tips:

  • Practice a lot, practice and hard work are the keys to success.
  • Maintain a good speed.
  • Read all the questions carefully, especially in the logical reasoning section. Attempt the easy ones first, and leave the difficult one for the last.
  • Give the paper with a calm and cool mind.
  • Keep a note of the important topics and do the sample papers religiously
  • Have adequate food before you come to the examination hall.
