JKCET 2019: Application, Exam Date & Pattern, Reservation Policy, CounsellingThe Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) was established by an act of the State Legislature. The Board conducts entrance examinations and recommends selection of candidates for admission to various professional courses in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. In order to create technical manpower, the Government offers Technical Education through various courses in Government and Private Colleges.

About JKCET 2019:

JKCET (Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test) is a state level common entrance test organized by Jammu and Kashmir BOPEE. Through this examination, the candidate can get admission in Four-Year Degree Courses in Engineering and Technology. It is conducted every year by J & K BOPEE. List of colleges which will participate in JKCET 2019 is given below:

  • SSM College of Engineering, Srinagar
  • MBS College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu
  • Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu, and
  • Bhargava College of Engineering & Technology, Supwal (Sambha)

JKCET 2019 Registration:

Candidates can register themselves for the examination on the official website http://www.jakbopee.org. Registration will start tentatively from 1st February 2019. Candidates shall visit the site http://www.jkbopee.gov.in and register on their own or through a responsible person in presence. Candidates shall regularly check the website for updates about the examination. Following are the details an applicant needs to provide:

  • Name of the Candidate
  • Father’s Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Certificates to be uploaded (Permanent Residence/Marks Certificate)

An application number will be given to the applicant and a confirmation mail will be sent to the registered mail id.

JKCET 2019 Application Form:

An applicant shall be able to fill the form for JKCET 2019 in the first week of February 2019. The application form shall be submitted online only through the official website within the prescribed date. After registration, a scanned photocopy of Photo/Signature/Thumb Impression shall be uploaded in the form.

Note: – Photograph must be snapped on or after 01-01-2019 and maximum size of the photograph/signature/thumb-impression be from 10-50kB. The photograph must be snapped with the nameplate and date of taking the photo.

All the applicants can modify/change the details in the application form at any time before they submit it. After this, an application fee of Rs. 800/- shall be paid for the examination. Payment shall be done through online mode only. Debit Card/Debit Card/Net-Banking can be used for the payment process. There will be no offline mode of payment. Candidates can check the status of their application in the ‘Application Status’ link. Applicants should take a printout of the application form for future.

JKCET 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

  • A candidate should be a permanent resident of Jammu & Kashmir.
  • A candidate should have passed 12th standard from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% (40% for SC/ST/Children of Defence Personnel or Para-military Forces or State Police Personnel/Sportsman) aggregate. He/she should have passed 12th with subject physics, chemistry, and mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • The candidates appearing for 12th examination in 2019 can apply for JKCET 2019, but they should submit all the passing certificates in the counseling round.
  • A candidate should be at least 17 years old on 31st December 2019. There is no upper age limit for JKCET 2019.

JKCET 2019 Exam Date:

The admit card for the entrance examination JKCET 2019 will be available in the second week of April 2019. By using their credentials, candidates can download their admit card. Candidates should check the admit card before downloading that all the details are correct. If they see a wrong detail, then they shall contact the Board and make it correct by paying a correction fee of Rs. 100/-. The candidates shall bring the admit card to the examination center. Without it, they will not be allowed inside the hall.

The written examination JKCET 2019 will be tentatively held on the last week of April 2019. Board will conduct the examination in 9 centers in Jammu and 6 centers in Srinagar. The examination will be conducted in various slots across the state. The Board will release the answer key in the evening of the date of conduct of CET 2019 or at 12 noon on next day.

Note: Answer key shall remain on the website for three days.

Candidates can check their answers with the answer key available on the official website. In case a candidate finds any discrepancy, he/she can challenge the answer key of JKCET within the given time (3 days) provided by the Board by paying an amount of Rs. 1000/-. The representations will be referred to the experts which will be final.

The result of JKCET 2019 will be tentatively declared in the second week of May 2019. Board will release the result in two local dailies and also in the format of pdf on the website. Candidates will be able to see their marks scored and the ranks obtained. If two candidates score equal marks, then they will be shortlisted on the basis of inter-se-merit decided by the Board. At first, marks scored in Mathematics will be checked. After this, marks scored in Physics and Chemistry will be taken into account. All the shortlisted candidates will be informed separately by the Board.

JKCET 2019 Exam Pattern:

Jammu & Kashmir BOPEE shall conduct the paper through offline mode. The question paper shall be objective type containing multiple choice answers and all questions are mandatory. There will be four booklets of question paper i.e. A, B, C, D. A candidate can get any of the booklets present. The question paper will be divided into three sections given below:

The total duration of the examination will be three hours. For each correct answer, one mark will be awarded. There will be negative marking. For each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. The medium of the test will be English only. Candidates will be provided with two copies of OMR sheets to write their answers. One original copy shall be handed over to the examiner and one candidate’s copy will be allowed to take home.

JKCET 2019 Exam Syllabus:

The questions are based on knowledge, understanding, and application of the relevant subject that a student of 10+2 standard is expected to possess. Syllabus shall be purely based on the courses of study and syllabus of 12th standard.

JKCET Counselling Process for Allotment of Institution:

The Board will inform all the selected candidates for the counseling round. The candidates must be present physically in the counseling and must pay a fee of Rs. 1200/- at BOPEE office. Candidates shall have to provide the choice of their course and college.

JKCET 2019 Preparation Tips:

  • Candidates should make a timetable according to the syllabus.
