JEE Main 2018 Application Form | Exam Dates & Pattern | Eligibility

JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) MAINS is a national-level entrance examination offering it candidates admission    into B.Tech /B.E Programmes 31 NITs (National Institute of Technology), 23 IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology) and 23 CFTIs (Central Funded Technical Institutes), the exam also is a gateway into B.Arch courses offered by various Universities. The exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), as announced by the MHRD minister, Mr. Prakash Javadekar.

JEE MAINS 2019 will be conducted twice in a year, in January (6th to 12th) and in April (7th to 21st). NTA has assured the setting up of Practice Centres for applicants to prepare themselves thoroughly for the prestigious examination. Mock tests will be released in August for candidates to practice at home or at the centres set up for this purpose. Candidates can appear in one or both the tests since the better of the two scores will be considered for admissions. It has been declared that there would be no change in the examination pattern, syllabus or the marking scheme.



JEE MAINS 2019 will consist of 2 papers, PAPER 1 for B.Tech/B.E courses and PAPER 2 for B.Arch courses. The exam will be organized in online mode (computer based) only. NTA will release the Application Form for JEE MAINS 2019 January edition on 1st September, 2018. The registration will go on till 30th September, 2018.  Once the candidate has registered on the portal via www.nta.ac.in, he/she will be able to fill the application form. JEE MAINS 2019 has made it mandatory for applicants to register with their Aadhar Card Number.

The NTA has increased the number of exam centers to 258 which include 248 exam centers in India and 10 centers abroad. Another progressive step taken by the NTA is its decision to allow diabetic students to take sugar tablets, fruits and transparent water bottle to the exam centres.

Over 12 lakh students appear for the JEE MAINS examination every year and this year, it has been noted that around 26673 seats will be available to eligible candidates. Aspirants are expected to buckle up and start strategizing in order to attain the college they are aiming for.



JEE Main 2019 Registration:

The official website for JEE MAINS 2019 is www.nta.ac.in. The registration process is entirely online and there is no offline procedure for the same.

STEP BY STEP REGISTRATION GUIDE

JEE MAINS 2019 January edition’s form will be released on 1st September, 2018 and its April edition’s form will be released in January, 2019.

STEP 1: REGISTER

  • To register for JEE MAINS 2019, applicants have to visit the official website, nta.ac.in.
  • Using their Aadhar number, applicants are expected to register.
  • Applicants need to furnish basic details to register for the exam.
  • Except for candidates belonging to J&K, Assam, and Meghalaya, it is mandatory for all other candidates to register with their Aadhar Number (Aadhar Enrolment Number for candidates whose Aadhaar Card has been applied for but not issued yet).
  • J&K, Assam and Meghalaya candidates can register with a valid passport number, bank a/c number, ration card number or any such ID proof issued by the government.




STEP 2: FILLING ONLINE APPLICATION FORM

  • Personal, academic, exam related and contact details have to be submitted by the candidates in order to fil the admission form.
  • These details should be correct.
  • An error correction window will open up in the period between September-October for correction/modification, only allowed as for valid reasons charging an additional fee.

 STEP 3: VERIFICATION

  • Applicants must have a valid personal email ID and an active mobile number for JEE Main Registration.
  • An auto generated verification mail will be sent to the applicant’s registered email ID and the phone number will be verified via SMS.
  • Candidates are advised to maintain the same phone number till the declaration of results.




STEP 4: UPLOADING IMAGES

  • The scanned images of the following need to be uploaded while filling the application form. The details are listed here;

STEP 5: PAYMENT OF FEE

  • The application fee for JEE Main can be paid online (debit/credit cards) as well as offline (e-challan deposited with the requisite amount of cash at Syndicate/Canara/ICICI Bank). Additional bank charges as applicable are to be borne by the candidates.
  • JEE Main Application Fee varies for different categories as well as the choice of exam center and mode of exam. The expected fee details for JEE Main 2019 with all the variations are tabulated below:

STEP 6: SLOT BOOKING

  • Applicants will be required to fill in a specific day and date on which they please to appear for the examination.
  • No changes in the slot booking arena will be entertained once the registration is complete.

STEP 7: CONFIRMATION/ACKNOWLEDGEMENT PAGE

  • Candidates are advised to take a print out of the Confirmation/Acknowledgement Page for future references.
  • The Acknowledgement Page will only show up if the payment has been made.

All personal and academic information furnished by the candidates has to be correct. Applicants have to upload the scanned images of passport size photograph and signature of candidate and mother’s/father’s/guardian’s signature in the specified dimensions and formats.

The specificities of the Application Form of JEE MAINS 2019 have to carefully attended to. In case the applicant wants to make any corrections/changes, a correction window in the period between September-October will be functional through an online mode, but this facility shall require the payment of an additional fee.



JEE Main 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria for JEE MAINS 2019 is mentioned below;

AGE CRITERIA

  • Candidate should be born on/after 01 October, 1994 (For Unreserved Candidates)
  • Candidate should be born on/after 01 October, 1989 (For Reserved Candidates)

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

  • Candidate should have qualified 12th standard examination (or an quivalent qualification) in 2017 or 2018.
  • For admissions into IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs, candidates should have secured a 75% aggregate (65% agg. For Reserved Categories) in the 12th standard examination or be in the top 20 percentile of the respective board.
