IIEST 2019: Application, Exam Date & Pattern, Eligibility, CutoffIIEST (Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology), formerly known as Bengal Engineering and Science University is the first IIEST in the country with the promulgation of amendments to the NITSER (National Institutes of Technology, Science Education and Research) Act, 2014, asserted by the honorable president of India, from March 4, 2014. The respective institute is located in Shibpur. The college received the status of Deemed University in 1993.

It is an absolutely miraculous platform for multidisciplinary research with the integrated application of engineering, scientific, and mathematical principles.

For admission, candidates are required to qualify the Joint Entrance Examination – Mains (JEE Mains). After qualifying JEE Mains, candidates can proceed further with the application.

IIEST 2019 Registration Process:

Candidates can apply for admission in IIEST through JEE Mains. If you are looking forward to being a part of this university, you need to follow the following procedure:

STEP 1 – Visit the official website JEE Mains i.e., https://jeemain.nic.in.

STEP 2 – Click the link saying “Fill Application Form”, after you click the link, you will be redirected to the application form. Read the instructions carefully and download the information bulletin and then click “PROCEED TO APPLY ONLINE” and fill in the details.

After you fill in the form, note down the system generated application number, for further use.

STEP 3 – Upload scanned images of the required documents, i.e., a scanned photograph and signature.

IIEST 2019 Application Form Details:

As you proceed with the filling of the application form, you are required to fill in the following fields:

Basic details.

  • State of eligibility.
  • State where the class 12th/NIOS study Centre located.
  • Select Identification ID Type.
  • Enter Identification ID.
  • Candidate’s Name.
  • Father’s Name.
  • Mother’s Name.
  • Date of Birth.
  • A person with a disability (PWD).
  • Enter the security pin.

IIEST 2019 Rules and Regulations:

Admission procedure:

  1. The first stage involves qualifying Joint Entrance Examination – MAIN (JEE-MAIN).
  2. After the candidate has qualified the written examination, the candidate is offered admission by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority or JoSAA, depending on their respective ranks. For a detailed description visit josaa.nic.in.
  3. The candidate has to go through various rounds of counseling before the admission.
  4. Cutoffs of colleges are released based on the ranks, candidates can follow up with the cutoffs and apply for counseling, accordingly.
  5. The candidates who are allotted seats at IIEST Shibpur by JoSAA-2018 at the final round of counseling will have to report to the admission centers (IIEST Main Building) for verification of the credentials and payment of fees on the dates mentioned in the JoSAA2018 /updates on IIEST website.
  6. When going for admission, the students must carry the following documents with them:

IIEST 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Admission to the B. Tech degree (for nine disciplines) and 5 year B. Arch courses will be done through JEE (Main) -2019 Paper I (for Engineering) and Paper II (for Architecture), an examination conducted by the JEE Apex Board, under CBSE, MHRD, GOI, for Admission to Undergraduate (Engineering Programmes in NITs, IITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions.   2. For IIEST Shibpur, 50% of the seats are reserved for candidates outside West Bengal and remaining 50% is reserved for students for West Bengal. The seats will be allotted by JoSAA 2018.
  3. Students seeking admission to the course should be citizens of India.
  4. To qualify for the admission, the students should have to secure at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination or equivalent examination or to be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards.
  5. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination or equivalent examination, or to be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. The seats will be allotted by JoSAA 2018.
