HORTICET 2019 Registration Procedure:

The candidates can also register offline, they can purchase the application form from the university counter itself. For online registration, the applicants can follow the steps mentioned below.

STEP 1 – Visit the official website of Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University i.e., www.drysrhu.edu.in.

STEP 2 – Registration: Click the link saying “admissions” under the “Education” option displayed in the navigation bar. Then click the button saying “Admission form” and download the application form.

STEP 3 – Fill the application form carefully. The application form details are mentioned in the next section.

STEP 5 – Submission of application form: The applicants can submit the application form, either in person or they can send it by post. In case the candidates are posting the application, they are required to send two self-attested photographs along with it.

STEP 6 – Payment of application fee: Payment can be done either in person or can be sent in the form of a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favor of “COMPTROLLER, Dr. Y.S.R HORTICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, payable at TADEPALLIGUDEM” on any Nationalized Bank.

  • Latest Conduct Certificate issued by the Head of the Institute last attended that he/she has never been found guilty of misconduct during the study period and never been fined or punished.
  • Latest Caste Certificate (In case of SC/ST/BC’s) issued by the Mandal Revenue Officer.
  • Certificates issued by the concerned authorities of the state in the case of Special categories like PHC (Differently abled), NCC, SPORTS and CAP.
  • Two Self addressed stamped envelopes (Rs.5/- postal stamp) (For sending the hall ticket).
  • Three passport size photographs (pasted on the application form and Hall ticket).
  • Original Demand draft for Rs. 650/- for General/BC candidates and for Rs.325/- (Rupees, Three hundred and twenty five only) in case of SC/ST/Physically disabled persons drawn in favor of “COMPTROLLER, Dr. Y.S.R HORTICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, payable at TADEPALLIGUDEM” on any Nationalized Bank.

HORTICET Rules and Regulations:

The rules mentioned below are exactly as per the guidelines prescribed on the official website of Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University.

  1. The University reserves the right to reject the application of the candidate at any stage, if:
  • The application form is incomplete
  • The application form without proper Demand Draft
  • The candidate fails to satisfy the eligibility conditions
  • The application form received after the due date will be rejected.
  1. The University is not responsible for non-receipt of the application by the notified date and time for any reason *No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
  2. Duplicate Hall Tickets shall be presented to the Supervising Officer at the Entrance Test Centre. If any candidate failed to get Hall-Ticket he/she can take the Duplicate Hall Ticket by showing their ID card as proof.
  3. No traveling expenses will be paid for too and fro for appearing for the entrance test
  4. Violation of any instructions and adoption of any malpractices in the examination Hall shall render in cancellation of his/her answer-script and forfeiture of his/her claim for appearing in the Entrance Test. The decision of the Convener of the Entrance Test Centre shall be final in all these matters.
  5. The candidates will not be admitted to the examination after the start of the examination and will not be allowed to leave the examination hall till the first half an hour is over.
  6. Answers must be written in blue/black ink. Pencil or Sketch pen or ink of any other color is not allowed. The issue of Hall Ticket and appearance in the examination does not automatically entitle a candidate for admission.

HORTICET Eligibility Criteria:

  1. A pass in Diploma in Horticulture course from Dr. YSRHU. (Those who are going to complete the Diploma requirements can also apply, but submission of the Final Memorandum of Marks-cum-Pass Certificate of Diploma in Horticulture is must at the time of Admission counseling).
  2. Age: The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission with an upper age limit of 22 years for all candidates and 25 years in respect of S.C. & S.T. candidates and 27 years in respect of Physically Challenged (Disabled persons) candidates.
  3. Total No. of seats allotted to diploma holders is 15% of seats of B.Sc (Hons.) Horticulture, i.e., 83 seats {47 (Govt. College seats) + 36 (Pvt. College Seats)}.
  4. Reservation: As per rules of Government of Andhra Pradesh, the above seats will be allocated in the ratio of 85% for local candidates and remaining 15% seats will be treated as an unreserved quota.
  5. Qualifying percentage: The qualifying percentage of marks for the HORTICET 2019 is 25% of the aggregate marks for General/BC categories and in the case of SC/ST candidates there shall be no minimum qualifying marks for ranking the candidates in HORTICET being conducted by the Dr. YSRHU.
