It was set up in 1957 for the promotion of the management profession in the country. The Association conducts many management examinations like Management Aptitude Test (MAT), Research Management Aptitude Test (RMAT), Under Graduate Aptitude Test (UGAT), Accredited Management Test (AMT), and many more tests.

About UGAT (Under Graduate Aptitude Test):

Under Graduate Aptitude Test is a national level standardized test conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) to shortlist eligible candidates for admissions to various undergraduate programs like Integrated MBA, BBA, BCA, BHM, etc. On the basis of marks scored in UGAT, candidates are provided to the institutes/colleges/universities indicated by the candidates.

UGAT Registration and Application Form Details:

UGAT registration can be done in two ways: online mode and offline mode as well.

For online mode: The registration window for UGAT 2019 will be activated tentatively in the first week of March 2019. Candidates can register themselves on the official website of AIMS UGAT i.e. After registration, the applicant must fill the necessary details correctly. Also, a scanned copy of photograph and signature shall be uploaded while filling the form. An application fee of Rs. 650/- must be paid for the entrance examination. The fee can be paid through debit card/credit card/net-banking.

For offline mode: The applicants can register themselves online and purchase the application form. Then they should send the duly filled form along with the original demand draft to AIMA, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi. The Demand Draft should be of Rs. 650/- in favor of “All India Management Association” payable at Delhi from any bank.

Also, a candidate can buy the application form from the listed AIMA institutes by paying a cash amount of Rs. 650/-.

UGAT Eligibility Criteria:

  • A candidate must have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized board.
  • A candidate appearing in the qualifying examination can apply for the UGAT provided that he/she should submit all the mandatory documents at the time of counseling.

UGAT Exam Pattern:

The UGAT test will be a pen-paper mode based test. The candidates will be required to answer on OMR sheets. For each correct answer, one mark will be given. There will be negative marking for wrong answers. The structure of the question paper is different for different courses:

For Integrated MBA, BBA, BCA, etc: The duration of the examination is two hours. There will be 130 questions in total.

For BHM (Bachelor of Hotel Management): The duration of the paper is three hours. The duration of section 1 to 4 is two hours and one hour will be given to solve section 5 and 6. There will be 180 questions in total.

UGAT Exam Syllabus:

  • English Language: Verbal Reasoning, Sentence Completion, Fill in the Blanks, One Word Substitution, Contextual Usage, Sentence Correction, Idioms, Antonyms, Synonyms, and Jumbled Paragraph.
  • Numerical and Data analysis: Geometry, Number System, HCF & LCM, Algebra, Ratios & Proportions, Work & Time, Percentages, Averages, Profit & Loss, Inequalities, Geometric Progressions, Data Interpretation, Statistics, and Time, Speed and Distance.
  • Reasoning and Intelligence: Coding & Decoding, Visual Reasoning, Pie Chart, Puzzles, Arrangement, Arguments, Syllogism, Course of Action, Series, Blood Relations, Calendars, and Statements and Conclusions.
  • General Knowledge: Government and Politics, Famous Personalities, Business, Economy, History, Geography, Awards, Books and Authors, Static GK, and Current Affairs.

UGAT 2019 Exam Dates:

Applicants who have successfully applied for the UGAT 2019 can download their admit card seven days before the examination date. The admit card can be downloaded from the official website The admit card can be downloaded by entering application number, date of birth, and registered e-mail id. It will contain the roll number, test center address, and test center instructions.

The written examination will be conducted in the second week of May 2019 tentatively. Students are advised to check the website regularly for latest updates.

The result of the written examination will be uploaded in the last week of May 2019. The result will be declared through online mode. The authority will send the scorecard to the shortlisted candidates to the registered address.

After the declaration of result, candidates will be called for counseling round.
