How to fill TISSNET 2019 Application Form?

To register for TISSNET 2019, follow the procedure mentioned below:

STEP 1 – Visit the official website of TISS for TISSNET 2019 registration.

STEP 2 – Registration: The interested and eligible candidates can apply through the online mode.

  • Students from remote places can request for the printed copy of the application by speed post with the required fee to the Assistant Registrar (Academic), Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Deonar Mumbai, 400088.
  • The candidates need to register before filling the application form. After successfully registering, the candidates are assigned a registration Id and a password that is to be kept safe for future reference and for filling the application form.
  • The application form can be submitted online or in person.
  • After registering successfully, candidates must take the printout for future reference.

STEP 3 – Fill the application form only after reading the eligibility criteria and the instructions carefully.

TISSNET Rules & Regulations:

The norms that are to be followed while applying for the TISSNET, as suggested on the official website, are:

  1. Confirmation of admission to Master’s programmes is subject to verification of original certificates and final mark-sheets.
  2. If any statement furnished by the applicant is found to be incorrect at any time during the study programme, he/she is liable to be debarred permanently from the programme, and will not be eligible to apply to any other programme in the future at the Institute.
  3. Candidates selected for admission are required to undergo a pre-admission medical check-up by the Medical Officer of the Institute. Certificate of health by the Medical Officer is necessary to confirm admission to the Institute.
  4. A candidate, who has been admitted provisionally pending results of the final year examination of the qualifying degree, should procure the final mark-sheet and migration certificate as soon as these are made available and submit the same to the Academic Section. These documents should be submitted before the start of Semester II, failing which his/her admission will be canceled. No relaxation will be made to this rule.

TISSNET Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Qualifying Exam: Candidates must hold a three years duration qualifying, bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from any recognized college.
  2. Students must complete all the requirements of their final year bachelor degree exam by 8th June 2019.
  3. Students who are in the final year of the qualifying exam but have not passed in all the courses are NOT eligible to apply.
  4. At the time of applying students pursuing in 3-year degree course should have passed in all the subjects (for the 1st to 4th semesters) and candidates pursuing in 4-year degree course should have passed in all the subjects (for 1st to 6th semester).
  5. For international students:
  • Any person who is not an Indian Citizen or a Permanent Resident of India is considered as ‘international student’. Similarly, Foreign Nationals, Person of Indian Origin (PIO) card holders, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI-Dual citizens), and Non-Resident Indians (NRI) are also considered under the category of international students.
  • International applicants should have minimum 50% marks/ GPA in the Undergraduate/ Bachelor’s degree programme to be eligible to apply. Similarly, international students interested in applying for the M.A. in Human Resource Management and Labour Studies Programme will additionally require a GMAT score of 610 and above (mandatory). International students can apply for a maximum of 2 programmes across Schools/Campuses and must ensure that they fulfill all the basic eligibility requirements/criteria for the programme(s) they are interested in as mentioned on the TISS website (admissions.tiss.edu).
  • Proof of proficiency in the English language is essential for those applicants who have studied in a University located in a non-English speaking country or where the mode of instruction was not English.
  • Only those students who have qualified from Foreign Universities or Boards of Higher Education recognized as equivalent by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) are eligible for admission.

TISSNET Exam Pattern:

  1. The Mode of examination: online (computer-based test, i.e., CBT).
