OUAT 2019 About

Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programmes in various courses. OUAT conducts a state-level entrance examination every year for aspirants seeking admission to B. Sc. (Agriculture/Horticulture/Agricultural Engineering/Veterinary Sciences/Animal Husbandry/Home Science/Forestry/Agricultural Engineering & Technology), M. Sc. (Agriculture/Agricultural Statistics/Agriculture Biotech/Agricultural Engineering/Home Science/Forestry/Fisheries Sciences), and PhD (Agriculture/Veterinary Sciences/Fisheries Sciences/Agricultural Engineering) courses. OUAT exam is a gateway of admission to these courses in the affiliated colleges based on their OUAT entrance exam 2019 score.

Eligibility

B.Tech (Agriculture Engineering) Passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with PCM subjects.
Minimum 50% marks (40% for SC/ST & PH).
B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture Passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with PCM or PCB subjects.
Minimum 50% marks (40% for SC/ST & PH).
B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry 10+2 or equivalent exam passed with science stream.
Minimum 50% marks (40% for SC/ST & PH).
M.Sc (Agriculture) B.Sc. (Ag.)/ B.Sc. (Hort.) from any recognized university.
M.Tech (Agriculture Engineering) Students must hold a B.Tech (Agriculture Engineering) or B.Sc (Agriculture Engineering & Technology).
M.Sc. (Forestry) B.Sc.(Forestry) from any recognized university.

Domicile requirements

Only candidates who are residing in Odisha or candidates whose parents are permanent residents of Odisha or are serving under the Govt. of Odisha/Central Govt. /Public Undertaking or any University in the State of Odisha are eligible to apply provided they must avail a certificate serving as proof of the above conditions.

Candidates who are permanently residing outside Odisha must avail a certificate from their Parent’s Employer/Tahsildar/District Magistrate to confirm their Odisha origin to be eligible for OUAT 2019.

Application Form and Registration

Form-A

  • Visit the official website.
  • The candidate will be asked to register using personal details such as Name, Aadhaar Number, e-mail ID, mobile number, etc. Please note that a valid Aadhar number is a necessary requirement for this form.
  • After registering, the candidate can move on to filling up the form. Form-A will need the candidate to choose their preferred examination center (up to 3).
  • Once all the details have been successfully put in, the candidate will need to upload the required documents for Form-A.
  • After the candidate has successfully filled the form, she/he will be redirected to the fee payment gateway. The candidate may pay the fees online, or offline through a Jana Seva Kendra.
  • Upon successful payment, the candidate will receive a receipt which contains a reference number that should be noted for future reference. The candidate can now print the filled in Form-A.
  • The candidates are advised to keep a print-out of the submitted form for future use.

Form-B

(Form-B will be available online after the entrance exam. Filling both the forms is necessary to be eligible for OUAT 2019.)

  • Once the Form-B is available on the website, candidates need to fill the form by filling in the required details about educational qualification, category, residential information, and so on.
  • The candidates must upload the scanned copies of required documents with a file size less than 200kB.
  • The candidate will also be asked to put in the marks obtained by her/him in the qualifying exams (10thand 10 + 2 marks). The marks should not be incorrect, or the admission of the candidate is liable to cancellation
  • On successful submission of Form-B, a confirmation SMS and email will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID, respectively.
  • The candidates are required to take a print out of the filled in Form-B for future reference.

Application Fee

OUAT 2019 application fee of ₹1200/- can be paid by an online transaction through Debit/Credit card or Net Banking.

Candidates can also pay by cash or via online submission through the Common Service Centres (Jana Seva Kendra).

  • In case of NRI Candidates – Passport of the sponsor, Visa/Permanent residential certificate of the sponsor and Residential proof of sponsor (electric bill, telephone bill, water bill etc.).
  • Certificate as proof of OUAT employee from Head of the Institution.
  • Permanent Residential Certificate for Western Odisha.

Exam Pattern

  • Duration: The exam duration will be total two hours.
  • Type of Questions:The question paper will contain multiple choice questions.
  • Medium: The medium of examination will be English only.
  • Total Marks: The question paper will contain total 200 marks.
  • Marking Scheme: One mark will be awarded for each correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: There will be no provision of negative marking.

Admit Card

OUAT 2019 admit cards are likely to be made available from the 3rd week of April 2019. Candidates can download the admit card from the official website by logging in with their credentials.

Candidates must take one valid ID proof with the OUAT to admit card 2019 to the examination center. The list of acceptable ID proofs is as below:

  • School or College ID card
  • Passbook of Nationalized Bank.

Selection Procedure

Unlike other entrance exams at UG level, OUAT exam computes the merit list based on performance in entrance test and past academic record.

The weight given to different aspects of the candidate’s performance can be summarized as:

Result

Students may check the OUAT 2019 result through the website. The result will contain entrance exam marks, provisional and final weight.

Candidates are required to enter their roll number, mobile number, and date of birth to check the result. Selected candidates will be able to participate in the counseling process.

Rules and Regulations

  • Students have to take their admit cards positively to the examination hall
  • Students should reach the examination center at least an hour before the examination starts.
  • Students should not carry any electronic materials such as mobile phones, programmable watches, and smartwatches, PDA, calculators, earphones etc.
  • Students should not carry any material that is related to the exam, including no writing anything on hands.
  • Students can carry only their stationery, including a blue or black ballpoint pen for filling the OMR sheet.
  • Students are also required to carry any of their photo identity cards issued by the government of India.

Preparation Tips

  • Practice a lot, practice and hard work are the keys to success.
  • Maintain a good speed.
  • Read all the questions carefully, especially in the logical reasoning section. Attempt the easy ones first, and leave the difficult one for the last.
  • Give the paper with a calm and cool mind.
  • Keep a note of the important topics and do the sample papers religiously
  • Have adequate food before you come to the examination hall.
  • Lastly, do your best.
