MAH CET 2019, MAH CET Exam Date, MAH CET Syllabus, MAH CET Eligibility, MAH CET Admit CardMaharashtra Common Entrance Test is an annual entrance examination which is conducted by the Government of Maharashtra for admission in various undergraduate, and postgraduate courses in engineering and pharmacy. The Common Entrance Test is categorized into the following types:

  • MAH-B.HMCT-CET: Maharashtra Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Common Entrance Test
  • MAH-MCA-CET: Maharashtra Master in Computer Applications Common Entrance Test
  • MAH-MBA-CET: Maharashtra Master of Business Administration Common Entrance Test
  • MAH-M.HMCT-CET: Maharashtra Master of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Common Entrance Test
  • MAH-M.ARCH-CET: Maharashtra Master of Architecture Common Entrance Test
  • MAH-CET: Maharashtra Common Entrance Test




About MH CET 2019:

MAH-CET is a state level examination conducted by Maharashtra Government for admissions in the first year of Engineering, and Pharmacy courses and postgraduate programs like MBA, M-HMCT, etc. The courses allowed through this examination are given below:

  • Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology (B.E./B.Tech.)
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.)
  • Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (B.HMCT.)
  • Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.)
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)

MH CET 2019 Registration and Application Details:

The registration for MAH-CET will tentatively start in the third week of January 2019 and the process will continue until the third week of March 2019. The exact dates will be announced on the official website in the month of January 2019. Interested candidates can register themselves on the website https://mhtcet2018.dtemaharashtra.gov.in.

The examination authority will create different links for the registration of the two different courses. A candidate who wants to register for the admission in the first year of engineering and technology course and pharmacy course can register and apply for the CET on the website https://www.mahacet.org.



After successful registration, an application number will be provided to the applicant through the registered mobile number and e-mail ID. With the help of this, candidates can log in and fill the remaining details in the form. The application form can be filled via online mode only. There will be no offline mode available for the examination.

The applicants have to an application fee for the examination. The fee for the examination can be paid through debit card/credit card/net banking/mobile wallets. The application fee as per the category of a candidate is given below:

For Undergraduate Programs:

  • For General Category Candidates Outside Maharashtra State Candidate and Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries: Rs. 800/-
  • For Reserved Category Candidates from Maharashtra State and Persons with Disability Candidates from Maharashtra: Rs. 600/-
  • For Children of NRI/OCI/PIO, Foreign National: Rs. 5,000/-




For Postgraduate Programs:

  • For Open Category Candidates from Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State, J & K Migrants: Rs. 1,000/-
  • For Candidates of Backward Class Categories and Persons with Disability belonging to persons to Maharashtra State only: Rs. 800/-

The application fee must be paid through online mode only. After filling the form completely, candidates must download a copy of the application form.

Note: – Candidates who fill the form after the last date shall have to pay an extra fee for late submission of Rs. 500/-

MH CET Eligibility Criteria:

For Engineering Course:

  • A candidate should be a citizen of India.
  • NRI/PIO/OCI candidates can apply for the examination provided that they must have a valid passport.
  • He/she must have done the 12th examination or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology as optional subjects. He/she must have scored 50% (45% for reserved category) aggregate in the above subjects taken together.

OR



He/she should have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% (45% for reserved category) aggregate in the qualifying examination.

For Pharmacy Course:

  • A candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • NRI/PIO/OCI candidates can apply for the examination provided that they must have a valid passport.
  • He/she must have done the 12th examination or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Chemistry and Physics as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics or Biology as optional subjects. He/she must have scored 50% (45% for reserved category) aggregate in the above subjects taken together.

For Hotel Management & Catering Technology Course and Architecture Course:

  • A candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • NRI/PIO/OCI candidates can apply for the examination provided that they must have a valid passport.
  • He/she must have passed the 12th examination from a recognized board with a minimum of 45% (40% for reserved category) aggregate in the qualifying examination.




MH CET 2019 Exam Pattern:

The examination will be conducted through offline mode. The duration of the examination will be 90 minutes. The total number of marks for each paper will be 100 marks in total. Examination pattern will be different for the different course:

For Engineering Courses:

For each correct answer, 1 mark will be given in the Physics and Chemistry section and 2 marks will be given to the Mathematics section. There will be no negative marking. The structure of the question paper is given below:

Paper 1 will consist of Mathematics and Paper 2 will consist of Physics and Chemistry both. Paper 1 will be in English and Paper 2 will be available in English/Hindi/Marathi languages.

The question paper will consist of 200 multiple choice type questions and the duration of the examination will be 150 minutes. The examination for MBA admission will be a computer-based test. For each correct answer, 1 mark will be given. There is no negative marking. The medium of the examination will be English only. The structure of the question paper is given below:

Given below is the brief description of syllabus of common entrance test and it will be based on 12th level:-

Physics: Units and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Rotational Motion, Gravitation and Satellite, Mechanics of Solids and Fluids, Oscillations and Waves, Heat and Thermodynamics, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Heating and Magnetic Effect of Current, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents, Optics, Atomic and Nuclear Physics, and Semiconductor Devices.

Chemistry:  State of Matter, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Chemical Thermodynamics, Solutions, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions and Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties, s-block, p-block, and d- and f- block elements, Co-ordination Compounds, Nomenclature, Basic principles of Organic Chemistry, Hydrocarbons, Organic Compounds containing Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Nitrogen, Stereochemistry, Bio-molecules, and Polymers.

Biology:  Living World & Diversity of Life, Cell and Cell Division, Genetics, Morphology of Plants and Animals, Physiology of Plants and Animals, Reproduction, Growth and Development, Ecology and Environment, and Biology in Human Welfare.



Mathematics: Algebra, Matrices and Determinants, Trigonometry, Three-Dimensional Co-ordinate Geometry, Vectors, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Ordinary Differential Equations, Probability, Statistics, and Linear Programming.

General English: Comprehension of Passage, Verbal Reasoning, Syllogisms, Antonyms, Fill in the Blanks, Jumbled Paragraphs, Sentence Correction, Sentence Completion, Sentence Correction, Idioms, One Word Substitution.

General Knowledge: Current National and International Affairs, Business, Awards and Prizes, History, Sports, Finance, Sports, Finance, Geography, and Politics.

Quantitative Aptitude: Ratio and Proportion, Number System, Profit and Loss, Interest, Geometry (Two Dimensional and Three Dimensional), Data Interpretation, Probability, Permutation and Combination, Percentage, Series and Sequence, Algebra, and Trigonometry.

Logical Reasoning: Critical Reasoning, Syllogism, Assumptions, Statements and Conclusions, Inferences, Seating Arrangement, Ranking, Matrix Problems, and Analogies.

MH CET 2019 Exam Dates:

The examination authority will release the admit card through candidate login in the last week of April 2019 and the window to download the admit card shall be kept open till the examination day. All the candidates are advised to keep in touch with the official website for updates.

MAH-CET 2019 will be tentatively held in the second week of May 2019. The answer key will be released after the examination on the official website. The answer keys will be available section-wise. Candidates can check the answer key on the website and can file for objection through post/courier/by hand.



Note: – Candidates are provided with a facility to verify their marks. This can be done by paying a fee of Rs. 1000/- to the divisional authority. The fee can be paid in the form of demand draft in favor of “Director of Education & Research” payable at Mumbai.

The result of MAH-CET 2019 will be released tentatively in the first week of June 2019 on the website. There will be no offline mode of result declaration.  The results can be checked by entering the application number and date of birth on the website https://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in. The result will possess:

  • Name of the Candidate
  • Paper-wise Scores
  • Total Aggregate Scores
  • Rank Obtained
  • Qualification Obtained

Candidates who score more than the cut-off will be shortlisted for further rounds. Cut-offs for different colleges and branches are different. After the declaration of result, shortlisted candidates will be called for the counseling round.

MH CET Preparation Tips:

  • Physics and Mathematics are quite typical and calculative subjects. So they require more practice. The two subjects should be read and studied regularly. Solving more problems in this two subjects will improve calculation skills.
  • Chemistry is one of the scoring subjects in this examination. Candidates who have basic knowledge in this can score marks easily.
  • Candidates should stay in touch with Biology as it is the theoretical part of the examination. It covers the highest marks in the question paper.
  • Candidates should make a time-table and follow it thoroughly. Also, they should solve previous years question papers and mock tests on a daily basis for practice.
