How to fill BITS MCA Application Form?

To register for BITS MCA, 2019, follow the procedure mentioned below:

STEP 1 – Visit the official website of Birla Institute of Technology (BITS) for BITS MCA, 2019 registration.

STEP 2 – Registration: The interested and eligible candidates can apply through the online mode.

  • As soon as the official website opens, click “MCA Admissions 2019
  • The candidates need to register before filling the application form. After successfully registering, the candidates are assigned a registration Id (application number which will be used as a username later) and a password that is to be kept safe for future reference and for filling the application form.
  • The application form can be submitted online or in person.
  • After registering successfully, candidates must take the printout for future reference.
  • The application will be deemed complete after the candidate has submitted the printout of the filled-up application enclosed along with required documents. The application is to be sent by speed post or courier. They have to write “Application for MCA 2019” on the top of the envelope and send it to:

STEP 3 – Fill the application form only after reading the eligibility criteria and the instructions carefully.

After filling the form successfully, candidates must take the printout for future reference (counseling and verification).

STEP  4 – Documents: Candidates are required to send the photocopies of the following documents along with the application form:

  • Candidate’s recent colored passport size photograph
  • A printout/ hard copy of the payment receipt of application fee
  • Candidate’s pass certificate and mark sheet of Class 10 (as proof of age)
  • Candidate’s mark sheet for Class 12th board exam
  • All mark sheets of Graduation level
  • Candidates correspondence or distance learning programmes will have to send photocopies of Pass certificate in addition to mark sheets of the qualifying examination with their application
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Candidate’s photo identity proof (voter id card/ passport/ driving license, etc.)

STEP  5 – Submission and payment of application form: Candidates can deposit the fee through online mode using Credit/Debit Card. Payment can also be done offline through SBI Collect.

The norms that are to be followed while applying for the BITS MCA, as suggested on the official website, are:

The admission of a candidate will be automatically canceled:

  • If any information provided in the application form is found incorrect or missing.
  • Who fail to submit the final degree/qualifying examination in time as stipulated or fail to secure minimum eligibility marks in the degree/qualifying examination.

Selection Procedure:

  • The provisional selection will be made on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in BITS MCA 2019 test conducted by the institute.
  • Candidates called for the document verification will be offered admission subject to fulfilling the eligibility conditions.
  • The shortlisted candidates may be called for document verification and admission process against the vacant seats, if any, in successive rounds, as required. The same will be intimated on the Institute website only as web notifications. No separate intimation will be sent to candidates.

Documents required at the time of reporting for Admission:

  • Pass certificate of Class 10 (as proof of age)
  • Marksheet of Class 10
  • Marksheet of Class 12 / Intermediate or equivalent
  • Marksheets of Graduation for graduates OR Marksheets up to a pre-final year for candidates graduating in 2019. She/he must also bring a certificate from the Principal of the Institute stating that:
  • By 30 June 2019, she/he will have appeared for examination in all subjects required for obtaining his/her Bachelor’s degree.
  • She/he has obtained requisite marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/ marks.
  • Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance learning programmes must carry a proof of the passing certificate in addition to the mark sheets of graduation.
  • Admit Card for the MCA 2019 Online Entrance Test
  • Score Card of the MCA 2019 Online Entrance Test
  • Caste certificate (if applicable), which should be in proper format and signed by the appropriate authority of rank not less than SDO.
  • Candidates belonging to other special categories mentioned in Sec-7 [Person with Disability (PWD) / Kashmiri Migrant / Ward of BIT Employee] must provide a photocopy of the certificate in proper format from the appropriate authority.
  • Photo identification: (Driving license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, College ID, Employee Identification Cards are acceptable)

BITS MCA 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  1. Candidates must have passed with Mathematics / Computer Science as one of the subjects in Class 12 / Equivalent Examination.
  2. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislatures in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD,
  3. The government of India / AIU. This degree must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling [Class 12 or equivalent] (10+2+3 system).
  4. Candidates must have one of the following qualifications:
  5. Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), or
  6. Sc. in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics, or
  7. Sc. with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at graduate level.
  8. Candidates with the above-mentioned qualifications (item-3) must have minimum 55% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in average in graduation, marks to be computed as the average of marks obtained in all subjects in which candidate has appeared. Candidates with B.Sc. Honors must have a minimum 55% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in average in their Honours subject.
  9. Candidates appearing for final examinations of their Bachelor’s programme in 2019 can also apply, provided they have obtained requisite marks or equivalent (as per item 4 or 5 above) based on latest available grades/marks at the time of applying, and if selected can join the programme provisionally. At the time of reporting for the documents verification cum admission, such an applicant must bring a certificate in original from the Principal of the Institute stating that:
  10. By 30 June 2019, she/he will have appeared for examination in all subjects required for obtaining his/her Bachelor’s degree.
  11. She/he has obtained requisite marks or equivalent (as per item (4 or 5) above), based on latest available grades/marks. Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification with requisite marks as per item (4 or 5) above. They must submit proof of passing their final examinations with requisite marks by 31 October 2019. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

How to Check BITS MCA Result?

The candidates can log on to the official website of the BITS and by providing their registration ID and password assigned they can check their score and tally it with the proposed cutoff to see whether they are qualified or not.
