Banasthali Vidyapith, a deemed University was founded by Hiralal Shastri and Ratan Shastri in 1935 in Jaipur State. The name Banasthali Vidyapith was given in 1943. Banasthali is a fully residential women’s university offering education from primary to Ph.D. level and one of the five universities in India meant only for Women.
About Banasthali University Aptitude Test (BUAT):
Banasthali University conducts an aptitude test to provide admissions to eight programmes in Engineering and it is organized by Banasthali every year. List of programmes are:
- Bachelor of Technology
- Bachelor of Pharmacy
- Bachelor of Design
- Bachelor of Education
Note: – The University takes different tests for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
BUAT 2019 Registration:
To register for the Aptitude Test, candidates can visit the official website of Banasthali http://www.banasthali.org/banasthali. A candidate can apply for the test via online mode and offline mode as well. Banasthali will release the notification on the first week of February 2019. All the candidates are suggested to register for the examination before the last date.
BUAT 2019 Application Form:
An applicant can fill the form via online and offline mode as well. Candidates can start filling the form from the first week of February 2019. The last date to fill the application form will the last week of April 2019.
For online mode:
Candidates can apply for the test on the official website of Banasthali. Applicant should fill all their basic details, educational details, selection of examination center, and communication details correctly. A scanned of recent photograph and signature should be uploaded while filling the form. After this, an application fee of Rs. 800/- must be paid for the examination. After successful payment, candidates can download their application form for future reference.
Note: – Online application form is not available for B.Ed. or M.Ed. programmes.
For offline mode:

Note: – Applicants will be given a chance to fill the form after the last date. But they will have to pay an extra late fee of Rs. 100/-. Tentatively, the last date will be the second week of May 2019.
BUAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria:
- A candidate should be a resident of India. There are a limited number of seats reserved for foreign/NRI candidates. Banasthali University offers admission to only females irrespective of their age, religion, caste, domicile or color.
- A candidate should have passed the 12th or equivalent examination from a recognized board with a minimum of 60% aggregate for all the courses and 50% for B.Design course.
- A candidate should have graduation with an aggregate percentage:
- For B.Ed and MBA: 50%
- For Engineering and Technology: 55% (45% for SC/ST candidates)
- For B.Sc and M.Tech: 55%

(Note: Students from non-Science background have to pass the Physics and Mathematics papers (of 12th standard) in their B.Sc. I year in addition to the core papers of B.Sc. (Aviation Science))|

The admission would be based on the merit of the qualifying examination. A candidate should be less than 20 years as on July 08, 2018 (less than 22 years in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH Category).|
BUAT Pattern and Syllabus:
The mode of the examination is a pen-paper based test. The language of the test will be English only and question paper will consist question of multiple choice types.
There will be 100 questions in total and 150 minutes will be given to solve the paper. For each correct answer, one mark will be awarded. There will be negative marking. 0.25 marks will be deducted if wrongly answered. Zero marks will be allotted to unattempted questions. The question paper will be divided into three sections explained below:

Given below is the brief description of syllabus of aptitude test and it will be based on 12th level:-
Units and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Rotational Motion, Gravitation and Satellite, Mechanics of Solids and Fluids, Oscillations and Waves, Heat and Thermodynamics, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Heating and Magnetic Effect of Current, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents, Optics, Atomic and Nuclear Physics, and Semiconductor Devices.
State of Matter, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Chemical Thermodynamics, Solutions, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions and Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties, s-block, p-block, and d- and f- block elements, Co-ordination Compounds, Nomenclature, Basic principles of Organic Chemistry, Hydrocarbons, Organic Compounds containing Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Nitrogen, Stereochemistry, Bio-molecules, and Polymers.
Biology (For B.Pharm.):
Living World & Diversity of Life, Cell and Cell Division, Genetics, Morphology of Plants and Animals, Physiology of Plants and Animals, Reproduction, Growth and Development, Ecology and Environment, and Biology in Human Welfare.
Algebra, Matrices and Determinants, Trigonometry, Three-Dimensional Co-ordinate Geometry, Vectors, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Ordinary Differential Equations, Probability, Statistics, and Linear Programming.
This section will consist of question from verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Verbal Reasoning will consist of Analogy, Classification, Series Completion, Logical Deduction, and Chart Logic. Non-verbal Reasoning will have questions from Pattern Recognition, Analysis, and Rule Detection.
Note: – Aptitude test for a course in Music will be taken practically. Candidates will be asked to prepare one slow khayal and one fast khayal with the augmentation of tabla and the basic knowledge of Music.
BUAT Exam Date:
The admit card for the examination will be available online tentatively in the last week of May 2019. To check the admit card, applicants should check the main website. Candidates shall log in to their account and download the admit card. No hard copy will be sent to any applicant. Banasthali University will conduct the exam in the second week of June 2019.
Answer key will be available on the official website at the end of June 2019 and results will be released tentatively in the last week of June 2019. Candidates can check the result on the official website of Banasthali University. The result will be comprised of Name of Candidate, Roll Number of Candidate, and the marks secured. All the candidates should take a printout of the result as they will have to show it during the counseling.
Merit list will be determined by the University to shortlist candidates for the counseling. The University will make a merit list based on the scores obtained in the aptitude test and 12th standard. Weightage will be equal to both of the examinations.
Note: University does normalization while making merit list as different boards have the different level of difficulty.
Counseling will be held tentatively in the first week of July 2019. According to the marks obtained and ranks secured, candidates will be grouped and called for counseling.
