Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) 2018Symbiosis International University conducts the Symbiosis entrance test (SET) for providing admission to its various constituent colleges. SET is commonly conducted for admission to undergraduate courses in different streams. Candidates seeking admission in SIU affiliated colleges can apply for SET 2018 in the second week of February 2018. Along with filling the application form for exam, candidates are also required to apply for the institutions in which they want to take admission. On the basis of SET, admission into BBA LLB, BA LLB, B.Des, BBA, BCA, BA, B.Sc Economics (Hons.), B.Sc Liberal Arts, B.Tech, B.Sc Nursing, B.SC MT programmes is provided.

Through Symbiosis Entrance Test, the admission to the above courses will be done at the following undergraduate institutions of Symbiosis International University:

  • Symbiosis Law School-[SLS] – Pune
  • Symbiosis Law School-[SLS] – NOIDA
  • Symbiosis Institute of Computers Studies and Research-[SICSR]
  • Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies-[SCMS] – Pune
  • Symbiosis Center for Media & Communication-[SCMC]
  • Symbiosis School of Economics-[SSE]
  • Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies-[SCMS]-NOIDA
  • Symbiosis Institute of Design-[SID]
  • Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts- [SSLA]
  • Symbiosis Law School [SLS] – Hyderabad

Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) also grants admission through JEE Main. The institutions for which SET is not necessary are as follows:

  • Symbiosis institute of Technology (SIT).
  • Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS).
  • Symbiosis College of Nursing (SCON).
  • Symbiosis School of Photography (SSP).
  • Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts (SSLA):- (For International Baccalaureate (IB) students are exempt from SET)

SET Application Form 2018

Get the information about SET application form 2018 from here:

  • Availability of SET 2018 application form will be through online mode.
  • The online registration will start from second week of February 2018.
  • The registration will last till the second week of April 2018.
  • Candidate can register either for one paper or for two papers, one in the morning session and another in afternoon sessions.
  • Enter all the required details carefully in the application form.
  • Before making the payment, read all the instructions carefully.
  • Upload your scanned latest photograph.
  • It is also necessary for the candidates to apply for the preferred institute for desired programme and complete the payment process for institutions before the last date.

Note: If candidate seek admission in engineering and health science courses on the basis of national level test (such as JEE Main) other than SET then, such candidates need not to apply for SET. Instead, they may directly apply to the concerned institute through national level entrance exam.

Application Fee:

Candidate has to submit the non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1500/-. Following options are available for making the payment:

  • Online Payment Through Indian Bank Net Banking
  • Payment Through Cash
  • Payment Through demand Draft

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for different undergraduate courses offered by SIU affiliated colleges is as follows:

  • Passed 12th examination or diploma in engineering/technology with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST category candidates).
  • Passed 12th examination in any stream with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
  • Candidates who have appeared the qualifying examination and results are awaiting are also eligible to apply. Such candidates are required to submit the passing certificate at the time of admission.
  • Candidates must have passed 12th from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST candidates).
B.Sc (Liberal Arts)
  • 10+2 pass from any branch with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST).
  • Foreign  Nationals  (FN),  Persons  of  Indian  Origin  (PIO)  &  NRIs  must  apply  through  the  Symbiosis Center for International Education (SCIE).
  • NRI candidates appearing final 12th examination in India are also eligible to apply.
  • Passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics as a compulsory subjects with any one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical vocational subject.
  • Attained at least 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST) in the above subjects.
B.Sc. Economics (Hons.)
  • 12th passed in any branch with minimum 50% marks for general category and 45% marks for SC/ST category candidates.
  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 (any stream; eg. Science, Commerce, Arts, etc.) or equivalent Or 10+3 diploma with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Final year appearing candidates are also eligible to apply.

SET Exam Pattern 2018

The common written test of SET 2018 will be conducted in the first week of May 2018 tentatively. The paper pattern of Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) 2018 is given below:

  • Papers: SET is conducted for total of 5 papers viz Law, Design, General, Engineering and Health Sciences.
  • Number of Questions: Law, Design and General papers contain 150 questions while there are 200 questions in engineering and health sciences papers.
  • Exam Mode: The exam mode will be offline mode (pen and paper based test).
  • Duration: The exam has duration of 150 minutes.
  • Sessions: It is conducted in two sessions: morning and afternoon session. Candidate can choose paper for morning session from Law or Design and for afternoon session from Engineering, General & Health Sciences.
  • Question Paper Type: The question paper is objective in nature.
  • Negative Marking: No provision of negative marking in SET.

Answer: The question paper of engineering will contain questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.

SET Preparation Tips

SET Syllabus 2018

SET syllabus is different for different papers. The syllabus for engineering and health sciences papers is generally consists of 12th class. The questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology subjects will be of 12th class standard. General questions are asked from logical reasoning, analytical reasoning, reading comprehension and general knowledge.

SET Admit Card 2018

  • SET 2018 admit card will be available via online mode.
  • Candidates can download the admit card in the last week of April 2018.
  • Without the admit card, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the test.
  • Along with admit card, candidates have to bring any of photo identity proof (Passport, Driving License, College/Institute identity card, Credit Card with photograph, Voters ID Card, AadharCard).

SET Result 2018

  • Candidates can check SET 2018 result through the official website of SET.
  • Result will be declared in the third week of May 2018 tentatively.
  • The score card will be available for one month after the date of result declaration.
  • The final merit list (SET Scores + PI-WAT scores) will be announced in the first week of June 2018.

SET Cut-Off 2018

Each institute will release its own cut-off marks . on the basis of SET Cut-off 2018, students will be shortlisted for the further selection processes. The cut-off marks will be different for different categories.

SET Counselling 2018

  • Each institution has its own selection process.
  • After the result announcement of SET 2018, students have to appear Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test (PI-WAT) round.
  • The merit list is prepared by providing 50% weightage to SET and remaining 50% weightage to PI-WAT.
  • Students will get the seat as per his/her rank.
